Stability ball buying guide

The main benefit of using a stability ball is that it forces the core muscles to work to keep it stable.

The most important consideration when buying a stability ball is the size of the ball. You need to buy the right size for your height, as shown in the chart below:

Stability ball sizes

For safety your stability ball should be “anti-burst”. This doesn’t mean that it won’t get a puncture – it just means that if it does it will go down slowly. A textured surface (usually in the form of slightly raised rings around the ball) will help to make the ball less slippery. However, stabilising the ball too much would defeat the object of using it.

All stability balls should come with a pump to inflate them.
